As the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, with 77% of its 10 million people living below the poverty line, Haiti is able to do very little to care for its vulnerable population. HHBC has chosen to serve our neighbors in Haiti by supporting the excellent work of Help One Now in orphanages there. These orphanages each include a vibrant church and school, and have become a beacon of hope for their communities.
One of the orphanages, Ferrier Village, is a refuge specifically for orphaned children who are at high risk of trafficking, or have been rescued from traffickers. It’s a safe, loving place where these precious children are cared for by house moms, and are being restored to physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
